Catholic Schools Week Schedule 2024

We are excited to kick off Catholic Schools Week 2024! This is a special week where Catholic schools nationwide celebrate being communities of faith, excellence, and service. Thank you for your commitment to our school and being a part of the St. Thomas family. We look forward to celebrating and praying together all week long. Please see the schedule for themes and activities for the upcoming week. 


¡Estamos muy contentos de dar inicio a la Semana de las Escuelas Católicas 2024! Esta es una semana especial en la que las escuelas católicas de todo el país celebran ser comunidades de fe, excelencia y servicio. Gracias por su compromiso con nuestra escuela y ser parte de la familia de Santo Tomás. Esperamos celebrar y rezar juntos toda la semana. Catholic Schools Week 2024 – Schedule of Events:

 

  • SUNDAY, JANUARY 28TH – Celebrating Your Parish 
  • MONDAY, JANUARY 29TH  – Celebrating Your Community 
  • TUESDAY, JANUARY 30TH  – Celebrating Vocations
  • WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 31ST – Celebrating Families 
  • THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 1ST – Celebrating Your Students 
  • FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 2ND – Celebrating Your Faculty, Staff & Volunteers

 

Sunday (1/28): Celebrating Your Parish 

~Catholic Schools benefit all year long from their religious guidance, prayers, and support parishes provide.

  • We encourage families to attend our school mass at 9:30am. Students wearing their formal uniform will receive a free dress pass. 
  • OPEN HOUSE on campus from 11:00-1:00pm. Light refreshments will be served. New and current families are invited! 

 

Monday (1/29): Celebrating Your Community 

~A central aspect of Catholic education is doing special things as a school community. 

  • Attire: Royals gear (t-shirt or sweater) with free dress bottoms. 
  • Students will make thank you cards for our community partners.
  • Zoom activity with partner school Good Shepherd & class buddy activities. 

 

Tuesday (1/30): Celebrating Vocations

~By focusing on faith, knowledge and service, Catholic schools prepare children to use their God-given talents to the fullest later in life. 

  • Students will attend grade-level Career Day assemblies. 
  • Career dress-up day for students. (Students may dress up as who they want to be when they grow up. This is optional)

 

Wednesday (1/31): Celebrating Families 

~Parents, guardians, and family members play a vital role in Catholic education as they instill values and expectations for academic excellence in their children at home. 

  • Family Picnic from 10:30am-12:00pm (12:15pm Dismissal)
  • Parents may bring food, chairs, blankets for the family picnic. 
  • Students may match outfits with their family members, teachers, or friends. 

 

Thursday (2/1): Celebrating Your Students

~On this day, we celebrate our students and recognize their many accomplishments. 

  • FREE Free Dress Day – Wear Class Colors! Classes will have fun buddy activities to celebrate throughout the day. 
  • CLASS COLORS — TK: Yellow, K: Orange, 1st: Green, 2nd: Blue, 3rd: Black, 4th: Pink, 5th: Purple, 6th: White, 7th: Red, 8th: Gray 
  • School-wide Chick-Fil-A boxed lunch. Order forms due Monday, January 29th. 
    • Note: Meals are for students only. 

 

Friday (2/2): Celebrating Faculty, Staff, and Volunteers

~On this day we honor and thank the teachers, administrators, and staff for their work.

  • Friday School Mass – Family members are invited to join us for mass. More details will be shared during the week.  
  • 12:15pm dismissal. Students may dress up as a teacher/staff member!
  • THERE WILL BE NO AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM.
