UPDATE: Returning to In-Person Instruction Next Week

January 20, 2022

Dear St. Thomas School Families,

I want to thank you for your continued patience and understanding as we continue to navigate the nuances and realities of this pandemic.

Monday, January 24th will still be Distance Learning up until lunch time, and then asynchronous learning the later part of the day to allow teachers time to prepare their classrooms and ensure all safety measures are in place. I am happy to announce that we will be resuming in-person instruction as of Tuesday, January 25th. Distance Learning will no longer be in place beginning this date. Yet, keeping in mind that if cases within our school community rise again and/or we are advised to do so, Distance Learning will be reinstated.

ALL students, in order to return to campus and regardless of vaccination status, must present a negative COVID-19 test taken no more than 72 hours prior to the start of school.

The test administered at school is a PCR, if resulted positive, it could be that the results return in this manner for at least 90 days. All students who have tested positive, and have followed the appropriate quarantine guidelines, are encouraged to take an Antigen test to receive a more comprehensive status to be able to return to school. The school does not administer Antigen tests.

We will follow all Los Angeles County Health Department (LACDH) guidelines and procedures for addressing positive cases. Below are the procedures we will follow for any further positive cases that arise within our school community: (Please see attachment for chart.)Return to Campus _ Regreso a Campus
We look forward to welcoming back our students in-person on Tuesday, January 25th! You are all in my continued prayers. Please continue to do your part to help curtail this pandemic, please get vaccinated if able to, and please follow all safety protocols.

In Faith & Education,
Mr. Cuevas

Return to Campus _ Regreso a Campus

Sr. Cuevas
