Re: Community Loss
Dear St. Thomas Parents:
There is no denying that our school community is being affected by the consequences of this pandemic. Our school community has experienced much loss in the passing of our loved ones, and now more than ever, we are called to come together to heal and support each other.
This loss is sure to raise many emotions, concerns, and questions for our entire school, especially our students. Your child, as well as you, may feel a variety of emotions: shock, sadness, or confusion. What is most important is that we not allow our faith to waiver, that we care for and support one another through this emotional time. Our school counselors will be meeting with our classrooms this Thursday and Friday to help support in any way they can. If you are in need of more personal support in this process, please call our field support person, Yoseline Lopez-Marroquin, Ph.D. at (562) 646-7280 to arrange a session with an available counselor. Should you need immediate support, please call (800) 273-8255.
This difficult time can be stressful and confusing. It is for this reason that we especially want you to know of our care and support during this difficult time. On Wednesday, January 13th, our counselors from CPLA will host a Zoom session at 5:00pm and we invite you as a parent to join us if you feel the need to talk, be provided with resources, or to just be in community with us.

Re: Comunidad Escolar
Queridos Padres de familia:
No hay duda que nuestra comunidad escolar ha sido seriamente afectada por la pandemia. Hemos vivido el fallecimiento de seres queridos, y ahora más que nunca, queremos unirnos y apoyarnos los unos a los otros.
Estas pérdidas seguramente han traído a la luz muchas emociones, preocupaciones, y preguntas, especialmente a nuestros estudiantes. Su hijo(a), como ustedes también, pueden sentir una variedad de emociones: shock, tristeza, o confusión. Lo más importante es que no perdamos la fe y que nos cuidemos y apoyemos el uno al otro durante estos momentos difíciles. Nuestras consejeras se reunirán con nuestras clases este jueves y viernes para ayudar en cualquier manera necesaria. Si necesita ayuda más personal, por favor de llamar a nuestra consejera Yoselin Lopez-Marroquin, Ph.D. al (562) 646-7280 para planear una sesión. Estos tiempos difíciles pueden ser estresantes y confusos. Por esa razón, queremos que sepan que estamos aquí para ayudar y apoyarlos durante estos momentos. El miércoles, 13 de enero, nuestras consejeras de CPLA tendrán una reunión a través de Zoom a las 5:00pm y los invitamos a que nos acompañen si sienten que les haría bien hablar, buscar recursos, o simplemente estar en comunidad con nosotros.
