YOU’RE INVITED: Posada Navideña hosted by St. Thomas the Apostle School on Tuesday, December 16th
December Family Event (12/16/25)-Las Posadas / Evento Familiar de Diciembre (12/16/25) – Las Posadas
Dear St. Thomas the Apostle School Community,
We are very excited to share that Fr. Mario has extended an invitation to the school to be able to participate in the parish Las Posadas tradition. Las Posadas begins on December 16th and ends on December 24th. It is a nine-day celebration of the journey of Mary and Joseph leading up to the birth of Jesus. The school will be hosting the posada on Tuesday, December 16th. The posada will begin with Mass at 5:30pm. We will have students dressed as Mary, Joseph, shepherds, and angels, as well as students to carry the nativity from the church to the school after Mass. We will recite the Rosary as we journey from the church to the school. Once at the school, the choir will lead us in traditional posada songs. Dinner and refreshments will be provided free of charge. As is tradition, there will be piñatas for the children. We hope that you will make this a priority for your family this year. If you have never participated in a posada before, this might become your family’s new tradition.We will need the help and support of our school families. Estimados miembros de la comunidad de la Escuela San Tomás Apóstol: Estamos muy emocionados de compartir que el Padre Mario ha extendido una invitación a la escuela para poder participar en la tradición de Las Posadas de la parroquia. Las Posadas comienzan el 16 de diciembre y terminan el 24 de diciembre. Es una celebración de nueve días del viaje de María y José que conduce al nacimiento de Jesús. La escuela organizará la posada el martes 16 de diciembre. La posada comenzará con la Misa a las 5:30 p.m. Tendremos a estudiantes vestidos como María, José, pastores y ángeles, así como alumnos que llevarán el nacimiento desde la iglesia hasta la escuela después de la Misa. Rezaremos el Rosario mientras nos dirigimos de la iglesia a la escuela. Una vez en la escuela, el coro nos guiará con canciones tradicionales de posada. Se ofrecerá comida y refrescos de forma gratuita. Como es tradición, habrá piñatas para los niños. Esperamos que este evento sea una prioridad para su familia este año. Si nunca has participado en una posada antes, esto podría convertirse en la nueva tradición de tu familia.
