1st Trimester Awards
Awards Assembly on Monday, November 20th at 1:30pm
Message from the Principal:
Dear Parents,
As our first trimester comes to an end, the teachers and I have been thinking about how to more accurately award students who have really taken their academic studies seriously. After much discussion we have decided to redesign our awards. The new awards and their criteria are listed below. Our hope is that with a new awards system, students will be recognized for both academic excellence but also, continuous growth.
Principal Award: This is award to the student who exemplifies our student learning expectations at the end of every trimester. This student has shown excellence as a person of faith, an effective communicator, a responsible citizen, a life long learner and a critical thinker.
Honors: This is awarded to students who earned all A’s, or its equivalent, and has earned S’s or better in behavior and work habits at the end of every trimester.
Growth Award: This is awarded to the student who has shown growth at or above the 65 percentile in reading or math on the STAR assessment at the end of each trimester.
Subject Awards: These awards will be given to the student who has shown excellence in a specific subject matter once a year at the end of the school year. Subject awards are English, Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, Religion and P.E.
Premios del Primer Trimestre

Queridos Padres:
Mientras el fin del primer trimestre se acerca, los maestros y yo hemos estado pensando en cómo premiar a estudiantes que verdaderamente han tomado sus estudios seriamente. Después de mucha discusión, hemos decidido rediseñar nuestros premios. Esperamos que con este nuevo sistema de premios académicos, nuestros estudiantes sean reconocidos por excelencia académica y crecimiento continuo.
Premio Del Director: Este premio se le da al estudiante que ejemplifica nuestras expectativas de aprendizaje al final de cada trimestre. Este estudiante ha demostrado excelencia en ser persona de fe, comunicador efectivo, ciudadano responsable, aprendiz para toda la vida, y un pensador crítico. (SLE’s)
Honores: Este premio se le da a los estudiantes que han sacado puras A’s en sus calificaciones (o el equivalente) y han logrado S’s o mejor en comportamiento y hábitos de trabajo al final de cada semestre.
Premio de Crecimiento Académico: Este premio se le da al estudiante que ha demostrado crecimiento en el percentil 65 o mayor en lectura o matemáticas en el examen de STAR al final de cada trimestre.
Premio de Materias: Estos premios se les dan a los estudiantes que ha demostrado excelencia en una materia específica durante todo el año escolar. Este premio se da al final del año en las siguientes materias: Ingles, Artes y Letras, Matemáticas, Ciencia, Estudios Sociales, Educación Física y Religión.
