Dear St. Thomas Parents,
Welcome back to the 2017 – 2018 school year. In a flash summer school was over and we have been busy preparing for the new school year. We are excited to have you and your children back to school and have life in this place one again. I would like to especially welcome all of our new parents to the St. Thomas the Apostle community. I had an opportunity to meet all of you already but would like to extend another warm St. Thomas welcome.
We also have a change in our teacher line up for the 2017 – 2018 school year. St. Thomas school would like to welcome Yanira De La Cruz to the St. Thomas faculty. Mrs. De La Cruz comes with over 20 years experience in Catholic Education and will take the position of 7th grade homeroom and middle school social studies teacher. I encourage the St. Thomas community to give her a warm St. Thomas welcome.
I look forward meeting all of you as a school community at Back to School Night. Kindergarten Back to School Night will be on August 21 at 3pm in the kindergarten classroom and the rest of the school will have their Back to School Night on September 7 at 6pm.
One very important reminder, emergency cards, lunch applications and release forms will be going home today in the parent envelopes. Please make sure to return those before Friday, August 18.
You and all of your children have been in my prayers and will continue to be this school year. I look forward to seeing you all at back to school night.

Estimados Padres de Familia,
Bienvenidos de regreso al nuevo ciclo escolar 2017-2018. Como rayo la escuela de verano se acabó y nos hemos ocupado preparándonos para el nuevo ciclo escolar. Estamos contentos de tenerlos a ustedes y a sus hijos de regreso y tener movimiento y vida en este lugar una vez más. Quiero en especial darles la bienvenida a los nuevos padres y alumnos a nuestra comunidad escolar. Tuve la oportunidad de conocerlos pero quiero extenderles otra bienvenida calurosa a Santo Tomás.
Tenemos un cambio en este ciclo escolar con los maestros. La escuela Santo Tomás le quiere dar la bienvenida a Yanira De La Cruz a nuestra facultad. La Sra. De La Cruz viene con 20 anos de experiencia en Educación Católica y tomará lugar del 7mo. Grado y maestra de Ciencias Sociales. Ánimo a la comunidad de Santo Tomás en darle una calurosa bienvenida.
Espero con gran anticipación conocerlos como comunidad escolar en la Noche de Regreso a Clases. La noche de regreso a clases para el Kinder será el 21 de Agosto a las 3pm en el salón del KInder. El resto de la escuela tendrá su Noche de Regreso a Clases el 7 de Septiembre a las 6pm.
Un recordatorio importante, la tarjetas de emergencia, solicitudes del programa de desayuno y almuerzo y formas de permiso serán enviados hoy a casa en los sobres familiares. Por favor regresarlos antes del Viernes 18 de Agosto.
Usted y sus hijos han estado en mis oraciones y lo continuarán durante este ciclo escolar. Los veo pronto en la Noche de Regreso a Clases.
