Later this month we will be celebrating Catholic Schools Week. National Catholic Schools Week is the annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States. It starts the last Sunday in January and runs all week, which in 2015 is January 25 – 31. The theme for the National Catholic Schools Week 2015 is “Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith, Knowledge and Service.” Schools typically observe the annual celebration week with Masses, open houses and other activities for students, families, parishioners and community members. Through these events, schools focus on the value Catholic education provides to young people and its contributions to our church, our communities and our nation.

To kickoff Catholic Schools Week at St. Thomas, on Sunday, January 25th we will have our annual Art Gallery featuring artwork from all students. Our celebration will begin with mass at 9:30am at St. Thomas Church. After mass, the school community and the parish community will have the opportunity to view and purchase the wonderful pieces of art created by students and teachers. All proceeds will go to the Heritage Scholarship Fund, which provides scholarship assistance to our families.

In order to keep costs for the creation of these projects low, we kindly ask that you pay a $4 art fee per student. Please send the money in an enclosed envelope with your child’s name and grade on it by Tuesday, January 20th. If submitted later than the deadline, the fee will increase to $5. Thank you so much for your cooperation and we look forward to showcasing your childrens’ wonderful artwork.
